Info

Jakob Gemassmer leads the research unit Mobility with Renewable Energy since January 2024. Previously, he was a researcher in the the same research unit since 2018. He was the contact person for the topic grid integration of e-mobility. His research focuses on the analysis of flexibility options of electric vehicles and their supply with renewable energy as well as the development and modeling of grid-serving charging strategies. In particular, he focuses on the spatial and temporal localization of idle times and energy demands of electric vehicles.

Jakob holds a bachelor's degree in Energy and Process Engineering and a master's degree in Renewable Energy Systems, both from TU Berlin. For his bachelor's thesis, he examined the influence of shade on photovoltaic systems. He wrote his master's thesis at RLI as part of the ecoPtG project, in which he analyzed the impact of battery- and hydrogen-electric trucks on Germany's energy system and on individual operating locations.
