Long Night of the Sciences: Kathrin Goldammer moderates panel discussion about the Energy Transition

June 14th 2016 – The “Long Night of Sciences” (Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften) took place in Berlin and Potsdam on June 11th 2016.  More than 70 research institutions opened their doors for the public between 5 p.m. and 12 a.m. RLI Managing Director Kathrin Goldammer participated as moderator of a panel discussion titled „Quo Vadis, Energy Transition?“ at the Fritz-Haber-Institut (FHI) of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft in Berlin-Dahlem.

Invited by FHI Director Robert Schlögl, who joined the panel on stage, Goldammer chaired a discussion featuring Alexander Bradshaw, former Director of the Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Thomas Schedel, researcher at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie, Friedrich Seitz, former manager at BASF AG, and Claus Bannick of Umweltbundesamt. About 60 guests witnessed a vivid discussion about the German Energy Transition, focusing on its current state and the future of the German Energy systems, as well as  global aspects regarding climate protection in context of the United Nations Climate Conference in Paris. A video of the discussion will be available shortly.
