Within this project, a geospatial data assessment for least cost electrification planning and site identification for mini-grids was conducted.
The project area covers the dryland region of Myanmar in the states Magway and Mandalay and the Sagaing Region. Main tasks within the project were a data collection and data processing as well as resource assessment to identify potential sites for mini-grid electrification.
The project was part of the larger ADB-funded Myanmar Off-Grid Renewable Energy Demonstration Project.
The main result of the project, an interactive electrification web map of Myanmar, can be viewed here:
