Tim Röpcke had been a Researcher in the RLI Research Unit Mobility with Renewable Energy from November 2018 until July 2023. He was focusing on municipal e-mobility concepts as well as the simulation, optimization, and analysis of energy systems with renewable energy. His research interests included e-mobility and mobility with hydrogen as well as their integration into the energy system.

Prior to his position as a Researcher, Tim was an intern and later student assistant at RLI since October 2017. In context of his work, Tim wrote his final thesis titled "Investigation of various electrification options in German rail transport with a focus on innovative drive concepts". For this purpose, he investigated the applications of rail vehicles with battery and fuel cell technology for passenger transport together with the required infrastructure. Tim holds a master’s degree in Energy and Process Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Energy and Process Technology from TU Berlin.
