Info

Caroline Möller has been a researcher at Reiner Lemoine Institut since 2011. She focuses on the simulation of regional electricity and heat supply scenarios and on the development of relevant modeling frameworks. After having been part of the RLI Research Unit Transformation of Energy Systems, she switched to the Off-Grid Systems Unit in January 2021. She is part of the developer and user group of the open source modelling framework oemof (open energy system modelling framework).

Caroline holds a PhD from Technical University Clausthal, she finished her dissertation in May 2020. For her thesis, she has been investigating the integration of storages in so-called energy regions and analyzes self-sufficient supply scenarios on a regional and community level. The PhD project was part of the research project "EOS - Energiespeicherlösungen in der Region Osnabrück-Steinfurt" at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück. Caroline also holds a Diplom in Environmental Engineering/Renewable Energies from the University of Applied Sciences Berlin.
