Alexis Hudes

Former Intern

Info

Alexis Hudes worked as an intern at RLI from June until August 2019 with the Off-Grid Systems team. Her stay was funded by the DAAD Rise award from the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) which offers undergraduate students from North America, Irish and British universities the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at German universities and research institutions.

During her internship, Alexis was helping to interpret data regarding the potential for small-scale hydropower in the Philippines. She was a student at Bates College in the USA studying Physics, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.

Apart from her work at RLI, Alexis has been a research assistant at Bates College’s Gould Research Lab and has used GIS as a Research Fellow for Pine Tree Legal. After graduation, she hopes to work in the renewable energy field. She is particularly interested in Energy Democracy and finding ways to transition into energy systems that are both environmentally and socially sustainable.
