Lena Haug is Head of the Research Unit Transformation of Energy Systems together with Editha Koetter for one year since September 2020. She is a civil engineer and has been particularly involved in the project planning and operation of wind farms in recent years.

Lena brings more than 14 years of practical experience from various energy and infrastructure projects to RLI. Since 2006, she has been working as a civil and project engineer and as such has been in charge of hydraulic and steel construction projects, offshore and onshore wind farms and photovoltaic projects. Most recently, she was responsible for the technical management of wind farms at TANDEM GmbH in Bremen. Lena also has further training as a welding engineer and is authorized to submit building documents.

Lena completed her studies in European Construction Management at the Jade Hochschule (formerly Fachhochschule Oldenburg-Ostfriesland-Wilhelmshaven) in Oldenburg and at Politechnika Szczecińska in Stettin. She is fluent in English and Polish and enjoys paddling and hiking in addition to her work at the RLI.
