Adegbayi Balogun has been a student assistant in the research field Off-Grid Systems at RLI from August 2017 until April 2018. He was enrolled in the master’s program Integrated Natural Resource Management at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin.

Adegbayi wrote his master thesis on Electricity Access as a Contributor to Rural Development using Northern Nigeria as a case study. In this research, Adegbayi aimed to contribute to the scientific debate on renewable energy usage especially solar PV, as not only an electricity providing medium but also a means to improve living standards of rural communities.

Adegbayi completed his bachelor in Geography at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. During his studies, he focused on human and transport geography. In addition to his work at the RLI, he is also active with the Nigerian Scholars in Germany e.V. (NiSiG e.V.).
