Anne Schalling has been a researcher in the RLI Research Unit Mobility with Renewable Energy since April 2021. She focuses on the topic of hydrogen and supports strategic projects towards a hydrogen economy.

Before working at RLI, Anne has been working in the German Parliament on the topic of Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid. Her daily work included the preparation of briefings and speeches as well as the cooperation with citizens, companies and NGOs.

Anne studied Industrial Engineering with a focus on Chemical Engineering at the TU Berlin and graduated in 2020. In her master thesis she analyzed the long-term economic effects of the German hard-coal exit on a regional level in cooperation with the Mercator Institut on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC Berlin). During that time she also worked in the research group Coal Exit at the TU Berlin.

Furthermore, she is leading the Berlin group of the NGO Micah, a network committed to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
