Since June 2021, Ciara Dunks works at the Research Unit Mobility with Renewable Energy at RLI. She has already been a researcher in the Unit since March 2020 and was previously an intern. As part of her work for the project Hystarter, she worked on the simulation, optimization and analysis of an integrated hydrogen infrastructure for a chosen region in Germany.

Ciara was a researcher in the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems at RLI from February until the end of May 2021. As part of her work, she supports the H2020 project E-Land with the development of the Multi-Vector Simulator (MVS).

Ciara holds a master’s degree in Renewable Energy as part of the EUREC program at the Hanzehogeschool Groningen. For her final thesis, she did research on “The development and validation of hydrogen concepts for the mobility and/or heat sectors through the use of SMOOTH – an open source framework.”

Ciara also holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Manchester.
