Info

Max Brandts was a student assistant in the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems at RLI from March 2022 until December 2022. He had been enrolled in the master's degree program industrial engineering at TU Berlin. In context of his work for the project CURE (Cuba’s Climate Change Resilience in the Energy Sector), he was writing a thesis investigating possible transformation paths for the Cuban energy system with the modeling framework oemof.

Max holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the Karlsruher Institute of Technology. There, he gained fundamental knowledge in computer science, economics and mechanical engineering before focusing in depth on automotive engineering and the energy industry. In his bachelor thesis, he investigated the indirect CO2 emissions of electric vehicles using an electricity market simulation model. Prior to his work at the RLI, he worked in product management for a Berlin-based solar startup.
