18.-20. 05. | oemof developer meeting

18th-20th May 2022 | Flensburg

The oemof developer meeting connects developers of the open source software. This time the meeting will take place from May 18th-20th in Flensburg.

From RLI, Caroline Möller and Sarah Berendes from the research units Off-Grid Systems and Transformation of Energy Systems will be at the meeting.

Caroline will give a presentation on the first day of the meeting about the open-plan-tool developed in the open_plan project. It is a user-friendly tool with a graphical interface. It can be used directly by different stakeholders for the optimized planning of energy cells to (partially) supply the electricity and heat needs of neighborhoods, commercial buildings and industry in Germany and beyond.

Sarah will present the RLI project SEDOS on the same day. The project goal of SEDOS is to develop a sector-integrated reference energy system for Germany, including open data, innovative model structure and three models (oemof, TIMES, and FINE).  The RLI develops innovations for oemof as part of this project, which will be presented to the developers.

Hendrik Huyskens and Felix Maurer from the research unit Transformation of Energy Systems as well as Hoang Minh Pham from the Off-Grid Team and Adeleye Adetunji from the Graduate School at RLI are also present at the meeting.

The modeling framework oemof (Open Energy Modeling Framework) is a tool for modeling and analyzing energy systems. It is an open-source licensed software that is modular and flexible so that it can be assembled according to one’s own needs.

The oemof developer meeting takes place every six months. At the meeting, developers present how they use the framework, develop oemof further together and work on new tools. It also aims to bring the oemof community together: developers and users.

More information about the developer meeting is available on the oemof website.
