Personal Information

Bachirou is a Guest Researcher within the Research Unit Off-Grid-Systems at RLI from April until September 2025. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Abdou Moumouni. His research focuses on the techno-economic evaluation of solar-based green hydrogen production and the optimization of the green ammonia supply chain for fertilizer production in Niger.

He is especially interested in green hydrogen, off-grid systems and electrification planning in developing countries using energy system modeling. At RLI, he will support the Off-Grid-Systems Team to analyze the electricity demand profiles data for non-electrified communities of West Africa within the AI4EA project.

Bachirou holds a master’s degree in renewable energy from the University of Abdou Moumouni (and another master degree in Sustainable Rural Transformation (Engineering track, Energy). Apart from his work at RLI, he is the co-founder of Climate and Sustainable Development Action Club (CSDAC) where he advocates for climate action and participates in the project implementation in rural communities.
