Personal Information

Sophia Lunor has been a guest researcher in the RLI Research Unit Off-Grid Systems since January 2025. Her work revolves around energy systems modelling, regional cooperation and sector coupling. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Energy Engineering at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Prior to RLI, Sophia has been an affiliate of the UPD Laboratory of Electrochemical Engineering since 2020. Her work there focused on hybrid renewable energy systems, modeling tools (PyPSA, HOMER, SPT), and sustainable development, which she applied in research exchange activities, case studies, and proposal competitions.

Sophia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman, where her thesis focused on petroleum price modelling and machine learning. Additionally, she has gained experience in Python programming, industrial energy analysis, energy audits, and market research through her student projects.
