Setu Pelz, researcher in the RLI Research Unit Off-Grid Systems, will present his opinion of an inclusive planning for a fair energy transition in India’s coal-belt states in a webinar. In addition to the question of how to achieve a just energy system transformation towards a post-coal economy, the seminar will also discuss the current uncertainties in coal mining due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the chances for an energy system transformation resulting from it.
The webinar’s title is “Economic Uncertainties and A Just Transition for India’s Coal Mining Sector”. It is organized as part of a webinar series of the interdisciplinary master’s program “Energy, Resources and Environment (ERE)” at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
