Kathrin Goldammer becomes member of German-Japanese Energy Transition Council

November 28^th, 2022 | The German Japanese Energy Transition Council (GJETC) has appointed RLI Managing Director Kathrin Goldammer as a member. At the council’s recent meeting in Berlin on November 28-29, she will attend the meeting for the first time as a council member. The council currently consists of 14 members and aims to promote scientific exchange on energy transition issues between the two countries.

“I have been following the work of the council since its launch in 2016 and consider it very important. Germany and Japan are technology-savvy, highly industrialized countries. It is crucial that they are good role models for the implementation of the energy transition and the fight against climate change. The German-Japanese Energy Council is helping to achieve this. “, says Kathrin, who herself lived in Japan during a research stay. Kathrin brings special expertise in renewable energy and green hydrogen. Kathrin replaces Franzjosef Schafhausen on the council.

In its form and size, the GJETC is the first cooperation project on energy transition between Japan and Germany. The core work topic of the Council is to identify new and long-term ways to implement an ambitious energy transition based on good examples from both countries. To this end, the council maintains a study program on energy transition topics and is in permanent exchange with stakeholders from industry and civil society.

The German-Japanese Energy Council was founded in 2016 and meets twice a year, alternately in Berlin and Tokyo.
