RLI Energy-Dialogue 2025 and 15 years Reiner Lemoine Institut
24. September 2025, Berlin
What are we working on at Reiner Lemoine Institute? What are the current topics, projects, and research trends? At this year’s Energy Dialogue, we would like to present the work of our three research units, Energy System Transformation, Mobility with Renewable Energy, and Off-Grid Systems , as well as the Reiner Lemoine Graduate School.
Discussion and workshops
In a panel discussion, we will talk with our discussion partners about the topic: What guidelines does German energy policy need now?
The discussion, which will be moderated by RLI Managing Director Kathrin Goldammer, will feature Robert Busch, Managing Director of the German Federal Association of New Energy Economy (Bundesverband Neue Energiewirtschaft e.V.), Patrick Graichen, former State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, and Gesa Steeger, investigative reporter on climate and economics at Correctiv.
We are offering two parallel workshops. The first workshop, “From Development to Practice: Modeling Distribution and Transmission Networks,” focuses on applying energy system models and network planning tools for modeling and analyzing sector-coupled distribution and transmission networks.
The second workshop, “Using AI Methods for Better Energy Research,” focuses on the opportunities and risks associated with the use of machine learning, particularly in relation to power grids, digitization, and infrastructure expansion.
A look at the work of the Reiner Lemoine Graduate School
We also take a look at the Reiner Lemoine College and the topics of industrial transformation and energy justice: Scholarship holders Martha Hoffmann and Philipp Diesing guide us through the work of the college and talk about their findings on their doctoral thesis topics. They are the second cohort of the Reiner Lemoine College for Energy System Transition and will be graduating this year.
Birthday Party: 15 years of RLI
Following the Energy Dialogue 2025, we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Reiner Lemoine Institute with our guests, marking 15 years of successful applied research in the field of renewable energies!
Participation in the event is by personal invitation only.
