SciCAR Conference 2026

RLI Managing Director Kathrin Goldammer and Timo Beyer from the Communications Department will give a lecture at SciCAR on the topic: “Between Transparency and Risk: How Open Data Strengthens the Resilience of the Energy Supply”. They will talk about how data blocks often only mean a false sense of security and about the relevance of open energy data for resilient energy systems and data journalistic reporting. In an interactive part, the speakers will discuss with the participants the practical work with sensitive data, such as which data is indispensable for research, where the limits lie in terms of publication and how to deal with potential risks.

As part of the SciCAR conference, journalists, researchers and developers meet and talk about journalistic practice and science communication.
