Commitment to Adlershof: Sarah-Juliane Starre new member of the WISTA Young Professionals Board

May 25, 2023 | Today the members of the WISTA Young Professionals Board met for the first time. Sarah-Juliane Starre, student assistant in the research unit Mobility with Renewable Energies, is a member of the new board, which aims to further develop Adlershof as a science location.

The WISTA Management GmbH is a state-owned company for economic development in Berlin. The company builds and operates technology centers, which in addition to Adlershof include, for example, the Charlottenburg Innovation Center (CHIC).

With the Young Professionals Board, the company is pursuing the goal of promoting the exchange of young scientists and entrepreneurs in Adlershof and thereby advancing the development of the location. In the future, the board will meet three times a year to exchange ideas. The results of the meetings will go to the supervisory board of WISTA, the operating company of the Adlershof Science and Technology Park, as recommendations and a basis for discussion.

Sarah is pleased about her appointment to the committee and says, “My study of geography is at the interface between the natural sciences and the humanities and is an integrative subject – that is, the content focuses neither exclusively on people nor on natural space. Rather, it looks at system interrelationships. Geographical thinking’ is, so to speak, a key to understanding the interrelationships between humans and the environment – in time and space. I would like to contribute from this perspective and further develop the technology park with a holistic view of the details.”
