Brandenburg Energy Day

11. June 2025, Cottbus

At the annual meeting of the Brandenburg energy sector at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, RLI Managing Director Christine Kühnel will moderate an expert forum on the topic of digitalization in the energy transition.

This year’s Brandenburg Energy Day will be held under the motto “Interim status and outlook for the energy transition” and will ask, among other things, what the right path is for the energy transition.

Christine’s discussion format is one of four forums. In it, the participants will look at four perspectives on digitalization: from the point of view of science, a start-up, distribution system operators and transmission system operators.

Sarah Berendes, researcher in the RLI research unit Transformation of Energy Systems, will also be present at the Brandenburg Energy Day. She will inform interested participants about the results of the RLI project “Stadt-Land-Energie”.

In the “Stadt-Land-Energie” project, the RLI is developed methods and tools that make it possible to calculate robust, regionally interlinked and sector-coupled energy transition scenarios for the urban-rural nexus. The aim is to promote inter-municipal cooperation and accelerate the local energy transition.
