Conference New Technologies and Test Fields for Waterways and Ports
11. June 2025, Berlin
Friederike Reisch, deputy head of Mobility with Renewable Energy, and Moritz Schiel, researcher in the same unit, will present the Enetra project – Development of an Energy Transformation Assistant for Inland Ports at the conference. In this project, scientists from the Reiner Lemoine Institute are investigating how inland ports such as BEHALA Westhafen in Berlin can cope with the transition to a sustainable energy system with 100% renewable energies. To this end, they are developing a web-based tool for the analysis and planning of modern energy concepts for the inland port.
The conference of the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) will focus on projects on new technologies in ports and waterways, automation and digitalisation measures or real test opportunities for innovations in ports and inland waterways. This is what the BMV’s three funding programmes stand for: Digital Test Fields in Ports (DigiTest), Digital Test Fields Waterways (DTW) and Innovative Port Technologies (IHATEC).
The conference is aimed at experts from research, business and administration. Participants can ask in-depth questions, have discussions and exchange ideas on the topics.
