Conference on research in tropical and subtropical agriculture
16. September 2026, Göttingen
Clara Neyrand and Julian Fleischmann, researchers in the RLI’s Off-Grid Systems Research Unit, will participate in a side event at Tropentag 2026 in Göttingen.
PRIMA – Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area – is bringing together various research projects it funds in a roundtable format to address the topics of water, agriculture, soil degradation, and biodiversity. Clara and Julian will share findings from the SustAgri project at this event.
In the SustAgri project, RLI researchers are collaborating with other organizations to develop sustainable agroforestry systems for the Mediterranean region in order to strengthen agricultural resilience. To this end, they are combining traditional and innovative agricultural practices and developing a digital planning tool for agroforestry systems.
The goal of the roundtable, held as part of the Tropentag, is to share insights from the projects, identify cross-cutting issues—such as scaling, socioeconomic inclusion, market integration, and policy coherence – and facilitate networking among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.
The event is part of Tropentag, a conference focused on research into tropical and subtropical agriculture, natural resource management, and rural development.
