Interreg Project H2CE Expert Discussion: Hydrogen in Regional Energy Planning

11. September 2025, Potsdam

Several RLI experts are actively participating in this event of the Potsdam Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Joint State Planning Department (GL) Berlin-Brandenburg: The researchers Marcus Schober and Josephine Nehring from the unit Mobility with Renewable Energy and RLI managing director Kathrin Goldammer.

Together with other project partners, Marcus and Josephine give an overview of the Interreg project H2CE. They report on milestones and the most important project stages and address the question: Where do we stand with regard on hydrogen in Brandenburg and with our European partners?.

Kathrin participates as an expert in an expert panel. There she will talk with the other participants about the current situation and prospects of regional planning in the field of hydrogen in Brandenburg.

The INTERREG project “H2CE – Strengthening H2-capable regions in Central Europe” supports regions in ten countries in systematically integrating hydrogen into their energy planning. The aim is to develop a practical toolbox for administrations and planning managers.

The Joint State Planning Department (GL) Berlin-Brandenburg is the lead partner of the project in which RLI is collaborating. In Brandenburg, the focus is particularly on the Prignitz-Oberhavel region – it serves as a pilot region for implementation.

More about the event can be found here (in German).
