S-Access – 6th International Conference

Philipp Blechinger, Head of the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems, and Katrin Lammers, researcher in the same Research Unit, will participate at S-Access, the 6th International Conference on Solar Technology & Hybrid Mini Grids to improve energy access.
Philipp will give a presentation entitled “Beyond Access: Coupling Rural Energy Systems with Innovative Mobility Solutions”. At a Practitioners Round Table, Philipp will discuss the role of e-mobility in projects that promote access to energy.
In the run-up to the conference, Philipp will also meet with partners in the project meeting of the Off-Grid and Edge-of-Grid Photovoltaic Systems -Task 18 group, who are working on the topic within the Photovoltaic Power System Program of the International Energy Agency.
Katrin will co-host the “Energy Access Innovation Lab Session” at a side event of the conference, an interactive and solution-oriented event to co-develop future energy access initiatives. Participants from science, politics, industry and civil society will discuss ways to promote sustainable and inclusive energy systems. She will also give a presentation on “Integrating Climate Resilience into Island Energy System Planning: Insights from Cuba and Southeast Asia”.
The S-Access Conference is committed to the sustainability of energy services and deals with the technical and economic aspects of solar technology and mini-grids.
