Sharing charging stations in retail – opportunities for municipalities

Gombodshaw Boß, researcher in the unit Mobility with Renewable Energy at the Reiner Lemoine Institute, will present results from the Retail4Multi-Use research project at the NaKoMo lecture “Sharing charging stations in retail – opportunities for municipalities”.  Gombodshaw will talk about how existing charging infrastructure in retail parking lots can be better utilized and made accessible to different user groups, such as commercial vehicle fleets.

In his presentation, Gombodshaw will present how the project team has identified possibilities to make existing charging points usable for other target groups such as taxis, delivery services or car sharing providers on the basis of a location analysis in Berlin and various usage scenarios. In addition, the project team has developed a digital matching platform that brings together the supply and demand for charging infrastructure in order to use existing charging capacities more efficiently and reduce the need for additional grid expansion.

The lecture is part of the series of events organised by the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure and the National Competence Networks for Sustainable Mobility (NaKoMo). In addition to the RLI’s contribution, NOW GmbH will provide an overview of municipally-relevant funding and research projects in the field of electromobility. Afterwards there will be an opportunity for questions and exchange.
