Personal Information

Giancarlo Sanglay has been a student assistant in the Research Unit Off-Grid Systems at RLI since October 2025. He supports the research area, among other things, optimal integration and scaling up of energy storage technologies, for example, by conducting energy system modeling of the Philippines under clean energy scenarios that involve the growth of renewable energy and storage capacity. He is studying for a PhD degree in Energy Engineering at the University of the Philippines.

Giancarlo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering. Besides his work at RLI, he is active in energy storage technology supply chain research in the Philippines. Additionally, he is fluent in English, Filipino, and Bisaya.
