Personal Information

Jonas Danke has been a researcher in the Research Unit Transformation of Energy Systems since September 2025. Previously, he had already been working as a student assistant in the same research area since 2024. He studied energy and process engineering at the Technical University of Berlin.

In his scientific work, he deals with the analysis and planning of electrical distribution grids as well as with the modeling and optimization of integrated energy systems. One focus is on the grid-related assessment of transformation paths towards a sustainable energy supply. He deepens his expertise in particular in the application-oriented mapping of power grids, the implementation of scenario analyses for energy industry issues, as well as in the analysis and grid-friendly integration of charging infrastructure and the optimization of charging processes.

Jonas is currently working in the field of municipal heat planning. In doing so, he investigates the interactions between electricity, heat and other infrastructure systems and develops data-based approaches for the evaluation of supply options from a technical and economic point of view.

As part of his work, he is intensively involved in the processing and analysis of large data sets, the automation of modeling processes and scientific software development in an open source context.
