RLI-StEmp-tool successfully tested

April 10th 2019 | The energy transition can only be achieved together. But how can all interest groups contribute their views and needs to energy transition planning?  Reiner Lemoine Institute (RLI), together with Energieavantgarde Anhalt e.V. (EAA) has developed a Stakeholder Empowerment Tool (StEmp tool) within the Kopernikus project ENavi, which enables actors in the energy transition process to participate in planning processes.

In a workshop, 25 participants from the region could test the BETA version of the StEmp tool themselves for the first time.

The StEmp tool can simulate and visualize regional energy planning, e.g. for the expansion of wind energy or photovoltaic systems. It is designed for the Anhalt-Bitterfeld-Wittenberg region.

The participants, who come from the fields of politics, business, science and civil society, were able to test the functions of the tool and check its usability. The feedback from this test run will be incorporated into the further development of the tool. The final version will be presented in this year’s summer.

This was already the third workshop in which the StEmp tool was discussed and further developed with stakeholders of the energy transition. In the two previous workshops last year, also at the EAA and at the Netzwerk21Kongress, the participants were able to present their perspectives, which were then implemented in the further development of the tool.
