Building Dialogue
Building Dialogue – Digital Guide for energy-efficient Building Renovation
What does Building Dialogue help with?
The Building Dialogue tool is a digital guide for energy-efficient building renovation. It was developed by RLI scientists together with partners and is intended to help building owners with energy-efficient renovation and heating system replacement. The application provides information material for multipliers such as energy agencies, which support them in approaching building owners. The aim is to increase acceptance of the heating transition and to provide low-threshold information on building modernization and renovation.
Who is the tool suitable for?
Building Dialogue helps building owners, private owners, landlords and apartment owners’ associations or housing administrations who need support in the energy-efficient renovation of their buildings. In addition, the tool is suitable for multipliers such as energy consultants, climate protection managers or consumer advice centres, who can use it to convey information and disseminate it on their online platforms.
How does Building Dialogue work?
The digital guide offers a structured overview of options for energy-efficient building renovation and heat supply. It bundles practical information on modernisation measures, heating system changes and legal and financial framework conditions. The central document step by step for energy-efficient renovation is available on the homepage. It clearly summarizes the most important content and can be browsed directly in the application.
Further content can be accessed via the right sidebar. These include the in-depth documents in the section Interesting Facts on the topics of modernization options, heating system replacement as well as subsidies and legal matters. They contain background knowledge and further links. An additional information document contains the topic of value creation and shows the economic effects of renovations.
Navigation is intuitive via symbols, arrows or buttons within the documents. Users can return to the home page at any time via the logo, while further areas such as project information, documentation and contact can be accessed at the top of the website. The application serves as a central, user-friendly information platform and digital guide for all aspects of energy-efficient building renovation.
What are the examples of its use?
The Building Dialogue Tool was developed as part of the project building-dialogue: Building energy transition – in dialogue with society. The project shows ways to decarbonise the building sector.
How can Building Dialogue be used?
The application and step-by-step instructions can be found on the building-dialogue website.
In addition, the program code is written in the Python programming language and is freely available in its entirety on the online service GitHub.
