Energieplaner – Actively shaping the regional energy transition.

How does Enerieplaner help? 
The planning tool was developed by researchers at the RLI in collaboration with project partners. Users gain an overview of possible development paths for the regional energy transition in the Peenetal/Loitz region and can explore predefined future scenarios or configure their own.

The tool was created as part of the ReEnAct project, which focuses on energy transition measures in rural areas and the involvement of stakeholders through the planning tool.

Who is the tool suitable for? 
The tool is intended for citizens who want to better understand the interconnections of energy transition measures and help shape them.

How does Energieplaner work?  
Using the tool, users can view predefined future scenarios for the regional energy system and the region’s peatlands in the year 2045. Under “My Plan 2045,” they can create, calculate, and compare their own scenarios and determine the simple electricity balance and land use.

On an interactive map, the tool also displays the current status of the regional energy transition as well as potential sites for wind energy and open-space photovoltaic installations in the Peenetal/Loitz region.

What examples of use are there? 
The tool has already been used at the “Energy Council,” a participatory forum for citizens, in Loitz. There, participants developed their own future scenario for their region. This scenario was subsequently added to the Energy Planner under “Scenarios 2045” and can be viewed under “4: Recommendation of the Energy Council.”

How can Energieplaner be used? 
The application is a web-based tool accessible via a web browser.
