FOSS4G Conference 2018

Catherina Cader , researcher in the RLI Research Field Off-Grid Systems is attending the FOSS4G (Free and Open Source Software 4 Geospatial) Conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She presents her paper titled “Overcoming data scarcity for energy access planning with open data – the example of Tanzania”, which explains open-source electrification planning.

The annual FOSS4G conference is the largest global meeting focused on open-source spatial problem-solving software. Experts from a wide range of organizations and fields of activity will meet for six days and discuss in workshops and presentations the many possible applications of geodata products and the corresponding GIS software as well as standards and protocols. FOSS4G is organized by the Open Source Geospatial Foundation in collaboration with the Humanitarian Open Street Map Team .
