Workshop on Intelligent Integration of Electric Vehicles into the Power Grid
Florian Schaller and Fabian Möhrke from the RLI’s research field Mobility with Renewable Energies conducted a workshop on the topic of Intelligent Integration of Electric Vehicles into the Power Grid as part of the IQPC conference AutoRenew 2015 in Berlin.
Goals of the workshop were to identify objectives, challenges and approaches for several fields of the intelligent integration of EVs into the power grid.
Experts from the automotive sector, battery and power electronics sector as well as from the energy sector participated and contributed their opinions and topic assessments to the workshop.
The workshop results indicate a balanced picture over all groups and categories. For the categorization, problems could be labeled as “economic”, “ecological”, “technological”, “social” and “legal”.
The most prominent category among all groups was “economic”, the least frequently chosen group was “ecological”. However, all categories are mentioned in each group.
In conclusion, challenges in the field of intelligent integration of electric vehicles will most likely touch any of these categories. This emphasizes the need to actinterdisciplinarily when it comes to the intelligent integration of EVs into the power grid.
