RLI presents research findings on the „Africa-EU Symposium on Renewable Energy Research and Innovation”

Building local capacities and promoting applied research are essential pillars in the development of renewable energies in Africa. Increased Africa-EU scientific cooperation is seen as crucial elements to boost renewable energy research in Africa. Therefore the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) in cooperation with the Pan African University Institute for Water and Energy Sciences (PAUWES), University Abou Bekr Belkaid jointly held the symposium from the 8^th to 10^th 2016 of March in Tlemcen, Algeria. The Reiner Lemoine Institut (RLI) was represented by Catherina Cader and Paul Bertheau who contributed with presentations highlighting recent research outcomes.

Participants included a mix of African and European experts from universities and private research institutions. Together, the contributors presented high-quality research on pertinent and relatable renewable energy developments on both continents. Participants outlined vital aspects for the continued success of renewable energy in Africa.
