She has been elected during the first meeting of the Working Group that took place online on November 9th 2016.
Berit is now responsible for coordinating the discourse on reproducibility and transparency of research results in energy system analysis projects funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). As Berit has already been active in the openmod initiative and in different projects, she is experienced in advocating open data in energy system analyses. “I’m looking forward to this new task”, says Berit. “The Working Group includes many renowned companies that use their own models and conduct large studies. They could contribute greatly to the cause if transparency. I enjoy promoting this.”
Also in the context of transparency, which includes reproducibility of research results, the second “Workshop reproducibility” took place on November 8th in Flensburg. Here, several institutions from the BMWi funding program System Analysis met to discuss how the reproducibility of their studies could be improved. The results of this workshop will be used as first input for the Working Group 4 of the “Research Network Energy System Analysis”.
