Kick-off of oemof_heat
October 19th 2017 – The research project oemof_heat began today with a kick-off workshop at RLI. The oemof_heat project aims to determine the potential of coupling the electricity and heat sectors. In order to do so, it will expand on the existing community-based Open Energy System Modeling Framework (oemof) and develop the corresponding scenarios.
At the kick-off workshop, we presented the agenda and our project goals and drafted our expectations of the research project together with our project partner, the Beuth University of Applied Sciences, and our associated partners, HTW Berlin, and innogy. We also had a closer look at the most important upcoming steps such as the definition of concrete systems and the development of relevant scenarios. “We look forward to this cooperation with great anticipation and are excited to begin this intense and productive time,“ project manager Editha Kötter summed up the project kick-off.
oemof_heat is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and is expected to be completed over a period of three years.
