Starting in July for a period of three months, a scientist can work in the RLI Off-Grid team and research solutions for energy access using artificial intelligence. The aim is to further develop the results of the Artificial Intelligence for Energy Access (AI4EA) research project. Applications are open until March 14.

The Transnational Centre for Just Transitions in Energy, Climate and Sustainability (TRAJECTS) is one of the four Global Centers for Climate and Environment funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Its aim is to promote transcontinental exchange, research and education on a sustainable transformation for the future.

The Senior Research Stay is aimed at scientists who are already advanced in their careers, i.e. doctoral students at an advanced stage of their PhD, researchers who have already completed their PhD or practitioners with at least six years of relevant professional experience.

Specifically, the scientist will work on the further development and application of the results from the AI4EA project. Tasks at a glance:

  • Disseminating knowledge: Creating tools, reports or workshops to share findings with policy makers, developers and researchers
  • Advanced modeling: refining AI models for broader application to rural electrification challenges
  • Stakeholder engagement: Promoting open access to solutions to encourage adoption and impact

TRAJETC funds the research residency as follows:
