Catherina Cader is a member of the AGYLE program
October 21, 2021 | Catherina Cader, Head of RLI’s Research Unit Off-Grid Systems, is part of the first cohort of AGYLE, an African-German Young Leaders network.
AGYLE brings together young African and German leaders from the fields of business, politics, media, and international cooperation in a long-term business network. A jury selected a total of 40 young leaders, 20 from Germany and a total of 20 from Rwanda, Ghana and Ethiopia.
AGYLE week and business network
The program starts for the selected young leaders with the joint AGYLE week, which is being held digitally this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this week, participants will get the opportunity to network intensively and develop innovative business models and solution approaches. At the heart of the week is a virtual Design Thinking Lab, where teams will develop and refine ideas and business models. There will also be virtual discussion rounds, keynote speeches and bar camps.
“Crisis as a chance – young leaders prototyping the future”
AGYLE is a program of the Agency for Business and Economic Development (AWE) and Germany – Land of Ideas. AWE is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by GIZ and DEG. In 2021, its annual theme is “Crisis as a chance – young leaders prototyping the future.” The COVID-19 pandemic illustrates what needs to change and adapt in our daily lives. How this change can be shaped proactively and future-proof, the participants discuss together and exchange their experiences and how they deal with crises in their daily work.
Through the direct encounter and cooperaCatherina tion of the participants of AGYLE, the African-German dialogue will be strengthened and a foundation for a new economic cooperation will be laid. RLI warmly congratulates Catherina for being selected as one of 40 young leaders for the first edition of AGYLE.
