February 7th, 2024 | Berlin

Marcus Schober, researcher in the unit of Mobility with Renewable Energy at the Reiner Lemoine Institute, will moderate the next Breakfast Briefing as part of the HyTruck project.

The event is aimed at stakeholders in the field of hydrogen infrastructure. In the project, RLI scientists are working on a transnational spatial development concept for the establishment of a regional refuelling station infrastructure for hydrogen-powered trucks in the Baltic Sea region. The project aims to achieve the objectives of the EU regulation on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure (AFIR).

Various H2 experts will provide input on the topic at the event:

  • Carsten Beyer (NOW GmbH – Programme Manager Hydrogen Fuelling Station Infrastructure) will give an overview of the National Innovation Programme (NIP) – funding projects and regional activities in Germany.
  • Reinier Waters (GASAG – Head of Hydrogen Activities at GASAG) will present the on-site production of green hydrogen at refuelling stations in the energy transition laboratory in Ketzin.
  • Pedro Brosei (Joint State Planning Department Berlin Brandenburg – Project Manager H2CE) will introduce the Interreg CE project H2CE – Partners and Objectives.

As a federal authority, NOW coordinates funding programmes for the expansion of public hydrogen filling stations as part of the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology. In 2023, NOW has launched a call with a focus on heavy commercial vehicles.
The INTERREG Central Europe project H2CE supports regions in Central Europe in promoting the integration of hydrogen into their local and regional energy planning. The project will develop and test new planning tools for public authorities and create a network of hydrogen-enabled regions for the exchange of best practices.

The Breakfast Briefing is a monthly digital meeting. Interested persons can register for participation here.
