RLI has become partner in the joint research project WindNODE, which has officially been launched on December 6th 2016 with the official handover of the grants. On January 26th 2017, representatives of the over 70 partner institutions will meet in Berlin for a first meeting of the consortium. On behalf of RLI, Berit Müller and Elisa Gaudchau will participate.

WindNODE is one of five joint research projects that are funded within the SINTEG Initiative (Showcase Intelligent Energy – Digital Agenda for the Energy Transition) by the BMWi. It aims at understanding the efficient interplay of renewable energy generation and consumption as well as the energy grids in between. This takes place in northeastern Germany as a model region. RLI is contributing by analyzing capacities and effects of the planned “Verbundkraftwerk Prignitz” (VBKW, Prignitz Power Plant) for the whole system.
