SciCAR conference

Which data sources, tools, and databases are equally interesting for journalists and researchers? These and other questions will be the focus of the SciCAR conference in Dortmund on September 5th and 6th. Timo Beyer from RLI Communications will be attending the conference on behalf of RLI.

Together with Florian Kotthoff from the OFFIS Institute for Information Technology in Oldenburg, Timo will give a presentation: Tracking the energy transition: “How can we improve the data quality and usability of the market master data register?” They will inform data journalists about the Federal Network Agency’s market master data register as a source of energy data and present the RLI tool open_mastr. Together they will talk to participants about how the data quality of the MaStR can be improved.

The SciCAR conference aims to bring together data journalists and researchers from different fields to exchange ideas on common methods, learn from each other, and initiate collaborations.

SciCAR is organized by Netzwerk Recherche, TU Dortmund University, WPK, and Science Media Center Germany.
