SDEWES Conference
30. September 2018
September 30th – October 4th 2018 | Palermo
Paul Bertheau, researcher and PhD candidate in the RLI research field Off-Grid Systems, will be participating in the 13th SDEWES Conference (Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems) in Palermo. He will present a paper titled “Energy supply for remote Philippine islands: sub-marine cable interconnection considering local bathymetry compared to renewable based mini-grids”, which examines the electrification of islands and compares the option to create energy access by laying sub-marine cables with the option to have islands rely on stand-alone hybrid systems.
SDEWES is dedicated to the improvement and dissemination of knowledge on methods, policies, and technologies for increasing the sustainability of development by de-coupling growth from natural resources and replacing them with knowledge-based economy, taking into account its economic, environmental and social pillars. It is hosted by the International Centre for Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems.
