SDEWES Conference 2024

10. September 2024, Rome

Philipp Diesing, a fellow at the Reiner Lemoine Foundation’s Graduate School, will participate in the Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water, and Environmental Systems (SDEWES) in Rome. There, he will present current results of his research work.

In his presentation, he will discuss the integration of flexible electrolyzers into the German energy system. For this, together with Anne-Wasike Schalling (formerly RLI) and Avia Linke (RLI, Off-Grid), he has quantified the costs and CO2 emissions for different operating modes of electrolyzers. Philipp’s presentation is part of the “Energy System Analysis” program block and is titled “Clean Hydrogen from a Dirty Grid? The Short-term CO2 Reduction Potential and CO2 Abatement Costs of Flexible Green Hydrogen Production.”

At the 19th edition of the conference, participants will discuss the promotion and dissemination of knowledge, methods, strategies, and technologies to increase sustainability. Other topics include decoupling growth from the use of natural resources and the transition to a knowledge-based economy.
