New Graduate School for the Energy System Transition

June 6th, 2019 | Since its foundation in 2006, the Reiner Lemoine Foundation (RLS) has supported around 100 PhD candidates with scholarships in the field of renewable energy. From the year 2020, the proven scholarship program will continue in the form of an RLS graduate school at the Reiner Lemoine Institut. In the spirit of its founder, the Reiner Lemoine Foundation is thus promoting the implementation of the energy system transition.

With the graduate school based at the RLI in Berlin, a group structure will be created, enabling synergies within the doctoral theses, creating a supportive and demanding work environment with direct support and developing a high degree of visibility. In addition, the doctoral students will be in close contact with practice and thus implement their scientific work in an application-oriented manner.

“With the new graduate school, future graduates will have even better opportunities to embed their research into energy transition projects and to exchange ideas with practitioners in Berlin and colleagues from applied research at the Reiner Lemoine Institute.”, says Philipp Blechinger. Philipp Blechinger was a fellow of the RLS, is head of the research unit Off-Grid Systems at the RLI and new head of the RLS Graduate School.

If you are interested, you can now apply for one of four scholarships from the Reiner Lemoine Foundation, each with a term of four years.
