October 3rd – 6th 2022 | Pretoria

Catherina Cader, head of the research unit Off-Grid Systems at RLI, will attend the LEAP-RE Stakeholder Forum in Pretoria, South Africa, in October. LEAP-RE is the name of a long-standing partnership for research and innovation between Europe and Africa. The forum is organized every two years to strengthen the LEAP-RE alliance and create an international multi-stakeholder community. This community will engage in Africa and Europe in the areas of renewable energy, science-based policy making, financing and research, innovation, monitoring, evaluation and learning.

As part of the LEAP-RE project of the same name at RLI, Catherina will bring her own perspectives and research findings to the Forum to represent RLI in this network.  Moreover the Stakeholder Forum will include the LEAP-RE General Assembly meeting, which brings together all partners of the project to share updates.

Overall, LEAP-RE is an important contribution to the implementation of the AU-EU Research and Innovation Partnership on Climate Change and Sustainable Energy (CCSE) and the roadmap for a jointly funded AU-EU Research and Innovation Partnership on CCSE.
