2023-08-01 09:31:23
August 31, 2023 | Berlin
The project team of FAIRberlin will show the German premiere of the film “Women Don’t Cycle” by Belgian Manon Brulard on August 31 in Berlin and invites to a panel discussion afterwards. On a journey by bicycle from Brussels to Tokyo, Brulard reflected on how gender determines the use of and access to mobility. She documented these experiences with her camera. In the FAIRberlin project, RLI scientists are researching climate-compatible mobility in Berlin from a feminist and inclusive perspective.
During the panel discussion, participants will discuss the film’s content in context of the current mobility situation in Berlin. In addition, the FAIRberlin team will present first findings from the project. The event is aimed at citizens and people working in the field of fair, sustainable mobility and empowerment.
Zakia Soomauroo, researcer in the unit Off-Grid Systems at RLI, leads the FAIRberlin project. She moderates the event and organizes it in cooperation with the Coordination Office for Nature, Environment, Climate and Sustainability Education Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The questions raised by Brulard are closely related to the research interests of FAIRberlin. Therefore, the project’s researchers would like to take this opportunity to talk about inclusion and equity in Berlin’s mobility sector.
