Berlin | By 2022, renewable energy plants with a capacity of 175 GW, including 100 GW photovoltaic plants, are to go online in India. The financing of renewable energy projects by banks and financial institutions is thus of crucial importance.
In order to optimally prepare for this, the State Bank of India (SBI) has planned a study trip to Germany for November 2019, with the aim of learning from the “German Energiewende”. As the solar sector in India shows a high potential for development, the study tour focuses primarily on photovoltaic projects. The participants will get an insight into different technologies, financing possibilities as well as research and development possibilities.
Guido Pleßmann from the RLI Research Unit Transformation of Energy Systems will present an overview of the German energy transition to the delegation, in particular the expertise of the RLI in the areas of sector coupling, grid expansion and battery integration. Concrete projects include the SmartPowerFlow battery project, the network planning and optimization tool open_eGo, and the WindNODE project for efficient use of sector coupling and grid integration.
Responsible for the planning, organization and realization of the study tour is the think tank and consultancy adelphi.
