Conference
On April 1, Norman Pieniak, Head of Unit Mobility with Renewable Energy at RLI will give a presentation on High Performance Charging (HPC) infrastructure and the path to an electrified mobility future. The presentation is part of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue.22 (BETD). This side-event of the conference is about planning charging infrastructure for e-mobility in urban and rural areas in Germany and China.
As the world´s largest market for electric vehicles (EVs), China has gained significant experience with handling the electricity loads from charging such vehicles, as well as optimizing charging and grid investments.
In parallel, the growing share of decentral renewable energy sources and utilization of EVs will result in a more variable energy supply and a modification of load schemes. Efforts to optimize EV charging and using their battery as temporary storage can help to stabilize the grid and improve power system flexibility. This specifically applies to rural areas with high vehicle ownership and dependence. The
The Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue is hosted and supported by the German Federal Government and is a joint initiative of the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE), the German Solar Association (BSW), the German Energy Agency (dena) and eclareon. A program of side events to the conference will take place between March 28 and April 1.
More information about the event is available here. Registrations close on March 23.
