6th E-Mobility Power System Integration Symposium

2022-10-10 10:17:30

October 10th 2022 | The Hague

Jan Timo Meyer, researcher in the research unit Mobility with Renewable Energy at RLI, will participate in the 6th E-Mobility Power System Integration Symposium. Timo will present a paper that was developed in collaboration with RLI researchers Carolin Daam and Jakob Gemasser.

The symposium has been organized by the energynautics organization and will take place on October 10, 2022 in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The aim of the event is to discuss the challenges posed by the increased demand for electricity due to the charging of electric vehicles. Solution strategies will be discussed on how to cope with this new task by coordinating with renewable power generation in the electrical system.

Timo will participate in Session 3A “Smart Charging II” at the symposium from 2:15 to 3:30 pm. In the presentation “Realise Flexibility Potential of EV Fleets through Grid-Serving Charging Strategies” Timo will present the paper he wrote together with Carolin and Jakob. Using the example of an electrified logistics fleet, it shows how grid-serving charging strategies can relieve the electricity grid in order to reduce both grid costs and charges. In particular, the focus lies on the use of additional flexibility and the consideration of different local grid situations.

Overall, the event will serve to bring together experts in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, power grid operators, stakeholders from the renewable energy industry, as well as power grid regulators and universities.
