March 22. – 24., 2023 | Vienna

Christian Hofmann, Ludwig Hülk, Sarah Berendes and Kilian Helfenbein, research associates from the research unit Transformation of Energy Systems at RLI, will participate in the openmod workshop of the Open Energy Modeling Initiative in Vienna from March 22-24. Ludwig will give a keynote presentation at this event.

The initiative is a grassroots organization of modelers from various research institutes, universities and companies and has hosted the workshop for several years. Ludwig’s keynote at this year’s workshop is titled: Achievements and challenges of the openmod. In it, he intends to give a brief review of past events and successes, as well as reveal a collection of open challenges and tasks.

The openmod workshops provide a forum for researchers to discuss how to promote the use of open data and open software tools in the field of energy system modeling. Topics range from sharing specific types of data, such as sources of open data on building inventories or distribution networks, to advocacy and outreach.

This year’s workshop will be attended by 50 people. The registration process is already closed.

More information on the process is available here.
