December 8th-10th 2021 | Berlin
The final project meeting for the open_MODEX project will take place over three days at the RLI in Adlershof and also online. The event will be hosted by the RLI, which is also the consortium leader of the project. After almost three years, this is the last joint meeting of the partners involved before the project is finished. For RLI, Hendrik Huyskens, Christoph Muschner, Jonas Huber and Sarah Berendes , all from RLI-research unit Transformation of Energy Systems will be present.
The three-day meeting will focus, among other things, on finalizing the project results and revising the publications that have emerged from the project.
The presentation of the results, lessons learned from the project work and further possibilities of cooperation between the project partners is also part of the working meeting.
For the final meeting, all project partners come together. In addition to the RLI, these are RWTH Aachen, TU Berlin, TU Munich, Europa Universität Flensburg and the Technical University of Denmark. Project Management Jülich will also be present at part of the meeting.
The event is the first meeting of the participating project partners in at least partial presence since two years.
open_MODEX is an open source project in which five open frameworks for energy system analysis are investigated and compared with each other. With the help of such frameworks, it is possible to virtually model energy systems of the future and to investigate the effects of an increased share of renewable energies. The aim of open_MODEX is to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the individual frameworks and to analyze the similarities, differences and possible synergies between the frameworks. This will simplify the selection of suitable models for concrete questions in the future. It was started in January 2019.
open_MODEX is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
